Operation of Public Lighting
Our aim is to build long-term relationships with our municipal partners based on mutual trust and an understanding of their business goals. The soundness of our policy has been proven by ELMIB’s ever-increasing clientele, the 130,000 street lamps we operate nationwide and the fact that our partners are satisfied with our services. Troubleshooting and repairs by our nationwide maintenance service is usually faster than what is prescribed in the relevant statutes, adding to the convenience and reliability of public lighting for our partners.
We have a unique financial construction which allows our partners to obtain shares in our affiliate (KÖZVIL operating public lighting systems) in proportion to the investment.
Modernization of Public Lighting
The best way for municipalities to reduce their overhead costs is to refurbish obsolete energy infrastructures. ELMIB is ready to make a free review of all options for savings and provide you with a customised bid. After carrying out a general survey, we make a proposal for the implementation of the modernization project with the lowest cost possible.
We can guarantee savings, which enables our customers to select the right financing construction with full knowledge of the returns they can expect. ELMIB will fully implement the project and take over administration tasks as well. You will only need to sign forms and contracts prepared in advance for you. Our customised energy rationalization projects are available everywhere in Hungary.
Besides planning and full implementation, we are also ready to pre-finance the costs of our projects. With ESCO, our customers have the opportunity to pay the costs of the project out of their future savings realized through more cost-effective operations.
Besides public lighting modernization, even more savings can be gained through the renovation of buildings and the replacement of insulation. Our projects enable you to cut costs on energy, maintenance and operation.
Light Intensity Regulation
The ELMIB Group was one of the first to sell light intensity regulators of its own design in Hungary. With light intensity regulation, the voltage of street lamps can be slightly reduced in order to correspond to the actual street traffic.
Light reduction of street lamps is hardly visible, yet it reduces electricity consumption significantly. Experience shows that it can lead to average energy savings of 20%-35%, while increasing the life expectancy of street lamps and decreasing the number of outages (due to the absence of overvoltage). Our partners may choose ESCO to cover up to the entirety of the costs of the investment, that is, costs can be reimbursed later from the savings gained from more energy-efficient operations.
