ELMIB Group offers a new solution to modernize hospitals, surgeries privately or state-owned health institutions operating at a high cost and in bad conditions. It is the first time the company has appeared in health care with its ESCO-financing service which enables health institutions to modernize without having the resources for the investment. It is inevitable to reconstruct delapidated buildings and modernize outdated, energy-wasting systems not only to improve the quality of health service but also to reduce environmental burdens.
With the help of ESCO-financing health institutions can cover costs of refurbishment and modernization out of energy savings.
ELMIB Group has set up a new consctruction for health care, which enables hospitals and surgeries to modernize their delapidated buildings. The new solution also helps institutions protect the environment and facilitate savings.
ELMIB Group appeared with its ESCO-financing service ten years ago offering municipalities a chance to modernize their public lighting systems without having their own resources. The construction, which provides funds for investments by energy saving, became popular overnight. In the last ten years ELMIB has renewed the public lighting systems for 400 municipalities and it has modernized indoor lighting in about 1400 offices, schools and kindergartens, also undertaking the implementation and pre-financing of these projects. These investments resulted in energy savings of 25-35% for our partners.
Last year ELMIB Group decided to extend its ESCO-financing services to health care institutions. This enables these institutions not only to rebuild their heating, cooling and lighting systems but also to replace doors, windows and insulation by posterior financing. The first full-scale modenization project was the 560 sqm Kútvölgyi Premium Dental centre, the new division of Semmelweis University Kútvölgyi Clinical Complex accomplished in January 2010. The entire project will be financed from energy savings arising from modernization. The ELMIB Group, which is well-known for its innovative energetical solutions, defined the the necessary investment after conducting a full-scale assessment of the building so that the modernization will result in the utmost energy saving. Beside the modernization of the heating and lighting systems, the company replaced the doors, windows and the insulation as well, which has meant considerable savings right from the beginning.
Modernization delayed for years is a serious issue for health institutions. As the Hungarian Court of Audit claims: ’The lack of funds necessary for the replacement of delapidated assets represents a serious problem badly affecting the financial status of hospitals.”
Health financing does not facilitate the modernization of delapidated buildings, lighting and heating systems or the replacement of doors, windows and insulation. Without these in most hospitals it is cold in winter, hot in summer, the outdated lighting is bad for the eye, energy bills are unnecessarily high.
ELMIB Group’s ESCO-financing construction offers an obvious choice for any health institution in Hungary to compensate for the acute lack of funds.
ELMIB group is one of the most rapidly growing Hungarian-owned energy companies providing full-scale, environmentally friendly service to municipalities, state-owned and private companies, tailored to regional demands throughout the country. It offers a comprehensive set of services in the energy business: energy generated from renewable resources, energy trading and gas distribution. The company is also active in the modernization and operation of public and indoor lighting systems and provides complex energetical solutions for institutions.
